Orange Public School Music Program
Orange Public School has a strong music program. Students have many options for joining music groups through the school. Regular performances are given, including entries into the Orange Eisteddfod.
Tuition is provided for students in instrumental groups, catering to both beginners and more advanced students. The school has a number of instruments available for hire or these may be sourced locally. Students then join together to experience performing as a member of a group.
The school band contains woodwind (flutes, clarinets & saxophones), brass (trombones, euphoniums, cornets, trumpets and tenor horn) and percussion (drums, keyboards etc) instruments. The school string orchestra contains violins and cellos. There is also a guitar group.
Choir Program
There are three main school choirs (Stage 1, 2 & 3), which are available to students from Years 1-6. Other vocal groups may be offered when the opportunity arises. In choir, students learn vocal warmups, singing techniques, how to follow a conductor, how to perform as part of a group and musicianship. The engaging repertoire includes unison and part-singing, and is voice and age appropriate.
