Financial contributions and assistance

There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.

Costs to consider include:

  • uniforms

  • school books and equipment

  • excursions

  • co-curricular activities.

Voluntary school contributions

Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.

For more information, visit the Voluntary School Contribution policy.

Orange Public School's Voluntary Contributions for 2024 has been set at $70 per child. This contribution has been set in consultation with P&C. This year's contributions are looking a little different due to the focuses we have set as a school to improve student learning outcomes.

Break down of fees are as follows:

$10 Library contribution: This will assist in the generation of new library books in both of our beautiful libraries.

$30 Mathletics:  Mathletics is a wonderful online program that can be accessed at both school and home. Many schools are using this resource and have tracked a huge improvement in student data. The Mathletics program will commence in all classrooms at the beginning of Term 2. All students K-6 will access this program.

Mathletics is a engaging and motivating program that is designed to improve children results in maths. It provides a link between home and school and is used both in the classroom and as homework. All work is automatically marked so that children can track their progress. Children are able to compete against other children outside OPS and engage in extension and remedial work if needed.

$20 Technology:  Money will be used to support our growing technology plan; i-pads, apps, specialised applications and computer programs such as dreamweaver, kidspiration, etc. for use by all students,

$10 General Contribution:  Towards resources for Creative Arts, English and Mathematics.

Payments can be made via School Bytes or at both Administraiton offices.

Financial assistance

If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.

Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
