Wellbeing

At Orange Public School, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

We do this through:

For support parents are asked to talk with their child's teacher who will start the referral process.

The Resilience Project

Orange Public School’s key wellbeing program is the Resilience Project. The Resilience Project is an emotionally engaging program for school that provides practical, evidence-based mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness within our students.

The Resilience Project curriculum is evidence-based and mapped to the Australian Curriculum Framework: focusing on Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness (GEM) and Emotional Literacy. All students participate in GEM lessons each week led by their classroom teachers. Students are also recognised at weekly assemblies for demonstrating Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness through the receipt of GEM awards.
